Buy this on Amazon

This is one of the books that was recommended by a few friends. Quite strongly. There are always books that come your way, that make you think.. why did I not read this 20 years ago? This is one such book. Strongly recommend you to pick this and read it.

The crux of the book are the four things you need –

  • Interest
  • Practice
  • Purpose
  • Hope

The author has incorporated some great examples to illustrate her points. Can’t refute any of them.

Also, this does not follow the rigour of a Mindmap, but captures the essence of what the book is all about. (purists- please excuse. I will improve).

It is that time of the year that people actually think of their 2020 resolutions. This year, I want to ensure that I read books- which I have been putting out because of various reasons.

(One of my) 2020 goal is to read a 100 books during the year. Read it, take pointers, and share it with the others.

The one thing I could have done differently….

Posted by in Management, Motivation, Personal Branding, Personal Effectiveness, Time Management

Ever thought what would be that one thing you would do differently if you had a chance to go back in time?

For me- it would be drop procrastination. Just do it. At the time you need to.

Despite that, if I have been able to do this, well, I just imagine the possibilities!

That said, it is never too late to start doing stuff today.  Right now.

What about you?

The best advise I had this year!

Thankfulness!

Thats’s right! In todays world with the various pressures we have, we easily forget to count the blessings we really have.

If you want to turn your life around, try thankfulness. It will change your life mightily. ~ Gerald Good

And a great piece of advise while reading a “Chicken Soup for the Soul” book. The best way to do this- take 3×5 cards and in each, write one thankfulness note. It is a long road so think of adding just one card a day. And stick it on a wall or inside your wardrobe.

See it daily first thing in the morning.

These little drops will make you more grateful for what you have than you realized till now.

Try it.

The power of humility

I was watching this video of Pope Francis in one of his visits where he sees a child in a wheelchair and immediately gets off the car to bless the child.   This action touched me immensely. There are numerous such videos along with this that shows the Pope doing this with a number of other people- especially children and old men and women.  Of course, there are enough nay sayers for every good action.

True or not, this simple action demonstrates the power of humility and why this particular Pope is undoubtedly a man of the masses.

Touching. And something we need to aspire to be.

This note is not highlight what Pope Francis does; but to showcase the impact it has on people who are the beneficiaries for such unexpected surprises.

Each of us does not have to be a superstar or someone with a following like the Pope, but each of can be humble and step up to reach out to others and make a difference. The next time you are out, and see an opportunity to touch someone’s life- take that step and reach out!

God bless.
